EFI has opened FLEGT Asia office in Malaysia. The office is located in the diplomatic district of Kuala Lumpur and is a part of EFIs EU FLEGT Facility. Three staff members have started work in the office: Programme Coordinator Vincent van den Berk, Policy Analyst Aimi Lee and Office Assistant Anne Anantom. The team visited EFI Headquarters this week for joint discussions with EFI staff on administration, communications and for sharing information on Flegt Asia. The overall objective of EU FLEGT Facility is to improve forest governance through support to the implementation of the EU FLEGT Action Plan. FLEGT Asia focuses on the timber exporting countries in the Asian region.
