FIRE-RES – Living Lab Animation

1. Raising Awareness at the Local Level

We share the results of our work with pilot municipalities by making key information accessible. This includes:

  • Risk maps, identifying the most vulnerable areas.
  • Wildfire scenarios, to anticipate impacts and prepare appropriate responses.

Objective: Provide local authorities with practical tools to act effectively against wildfires.

2. Promoting Dialogue with Local Stakeholders

Through the Fire-Forums, we create spaces for dialogue that bring together municipalities, forest managers, emergency services, and citizens.

Objective: Share best practices, co-develop solutions tailored to local contexts, and strengthen coordination during crises.

IEFC plays a key role in coordinating exchanges between stakeholders within the Living Lab Nouvelle-Aquitaine. To better understand local challenges and provide effective technical and scientific responses, regular meetings are organized to discuss the needs of organizations committed to protecting forests and communities from wildfire risks.

Ongoing actions:

  • Coordinating the meetings of the regional innovation committee on forest fires.
  • Updating the action roadmap, in collaboration with project coordination.

A concrete example:

A recent event took place in Biscarrosse and Mimizan, bringing together several regional actors:

  • INRAE, DFCI, SDIS40, CNPF-CRPF Aquitaine.
  • The municipalities of Mimizan and Biscarrosse
  • MISSO GROUPAMA, le Parc naturel régional des Landes de Gascogne, SYBARVAL et l’IEFC.

These gatherings strengthen collaboration between all actors to better anticipate and respond to wildfire risks in the region.
