Foi ent\u00e3o a ocasi\u00e3o de compilar as informa\u00e7\u00f5es de origem diversa, recolhidas pela ALTERRA, correspondendo \u00e0s superficies florestais das esp\u00e9cies por pa\u00eds. Este exerc\u00edcio \u00e9 sempre delicado pois \u00e9 imposs\u00edvel encontrar os dados sincr\u00f3nicos e a defini\u00e7\u00e3o de um povoamento pode variar de um pa\u00eds para outro. No entanto, a titulo indicativo, parece-nos interessante de publicar o quadro abaixo exposto (excluindo o Chipre e Malta). Podemos assim verificar que os pinhais de 41 milh\u00f5es de hectares e 5 bili\u00f5es de metros c\u00fabicos representam o g\u00e9nero dominante na Europa, com mais de 30% do crescimento anual, \u00e0 frente do picea. A seguir temos o carvalho, seguido de longe pela faia, o vidoeiro, amieiro, castanheiro e o eucalipto. Quando nos interessamos \u00e0 productividade a ordem inversa-se, com um grupo pioneiro entre 12 e 15 metros c\u00fabicos por hectar e por ano, reagrupando: eucaliptos, pl\u00e1tano, Pseudotsuga, abeto e castanheiro&#8230; Devemos tamb\u00e9m notar a boa produ\u00e7\u00e3o resultante da mistura pinheiro abeto. Estes resultados devem ser utilizados com precau\u00e7\u00e3o devido ao grande numero de povoamentos mistos que n\u00e3o podemos ter em conta nos nossos c\u00e1lculos e que s\u00e3o agrupados sob as domina\u00e7\u00f5es de arvores frondosas, con\u00edferas, matorral.
