Os riscos de introdu\u00e7\u00e3o de insectos ex\u00f3ticos ou patog\u00e9nicos no territ\u00f3rio europeu t\u00eam vindo a aumentar a um ritmo exponencial desde o s\u00e9culo XIX1<\/sup>. As principais raz\u00f5es s\u00e3o, por um lado o aumento do com\u00e9rcio de material vegetal e de produtos de madeira, \u00a0mas tamb\u00e9m as altera\u00e7\u00f5es clim\u00e1ticas que enfraquecem os ecossistemas e permitem o acesso a novas \u00e1reas por outro. E embora a maioria destas introdu\u00e7\u00f5es n\u00e3o representem um risco para as nossas florestas, uma pequena parte \u00e9 capaz de se estabelecer e causar danos consider\u00e1veis (por exemplo, o nem\u00e1todo do pinheiro, a murchid\u00e3o do freixo, e as pragas de escolitideos).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Foi neste contexto que o projeto HOMED, financiado pelo programa europeu Horizon 2020, foi lan\u00e7ado em 2017. O objetivo do projeto era propor uma gama de m\u00e9todos pr\u00e1ticos e inovadores, bem como de ferramentas e solu\u00e7\u00f5es para a gest\u00e3o de pragas e doen\u00e7as, aut\u00f3ctones \u00a0\u00a0ex\u00f3tico, \u00a0emergentes, numa abordagem sist\u00e9mica envolvendo v\u00e1rios atores. Cinco anos mais tarde podemos dizer que , o trabalho dos investigadores foi bastante produtivo com mais de 50 resultados, cerca de 40 publica\u00e7\u00f5es cient\u00edficas, tutoriais, entrevistas ou v\u00eddeos educativos disponiveis no website do projeto.<\/a> \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0O projeto tamb\u00e9m teve a preocupa\u00e7\u00e3o de disponibilizar estes resultados numa vers\u00e3o acess\u00edvel ao maior n\u00famero de pessoas poss\u00edvel, que passamos a apresentar. Este \u00e9 o Knowledge Hub<\/a>, a vitrina do projeto que re\u00fane numa interface intuitiva todos os resultados de interesse pr\u00e1tico para os atores do sector: gestores e propriet\u00e1rios florestais, viveiros, autoridades fitossanit\u00e1rias, decisores pol\u00edticos e cidad\u00e3os comuns. Esta plataforma cont\u00e9m cerca de vinte elementos em diferentes formatos:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Ferramentas online: simula\u00e7\u00f5es, modelos e mapas de risco para antecipar os pontos de introdu\u00e7\u00e3o mais suscet\u00edveis ou danos verificados<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Folhas descritivas de prot\u00f3tipos de armadilhas para insetos ou esporos, desenvolvidas para diferentes objetivos<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Resumos gr\u00e1ficos para comunicar \u00a0os resultados cient\u00edficos ou conte\u00fados t\u00e9cnicos de interesse pr\u00e1tico<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Notas de s\u00edntese contendo recomenda\u00e7\u00f5es de natureza mais pol\u00edtica e jur\u00eddica<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Podem encontrar-se resultados relevantes para a gest\u00e3o de cada uma das fases da introdu\u00e7\u00e3o de um agente de praga: previs\u00e3o do risco, dete\u00e7\u00e3o das primeiras introdu\u00e7\u00f5es, monitoriza\u00e7\u00e3o da propaga\u00e7\u00e3o e, finalmente, m\u00e9todos de erradica\u00e7\u00e3o ou, na sua falta, de controlo. \u00c9 atrav\u00e9s do refor\u00e7o da coopera\u00e7\u00e3o europeia e internacional em termos de monitoriza\u00e7\u00e3o em cada fase do transporte de material de risco, aplicando as solu\u00e7\u00f5es de dete\u00e7\u00e3o dispon\u00edveis e partilhando os dados adquiridos que reduziremos os riscos para as nossas florestas.
