A 28 de Abril de 2022, uma d\u00fazia de participantes de toda a Europa reuniram-se em Pistoia, It\u00e1lia – uma das \u00e1reas mais importantes para a produ\u00e7\u00e3o de plantas em viveiro – para discutir as ferramentas desenvolvidas pelo projeto HOMED para a preven\u00e7\u00e3o e detec\u00e7\u00e3o de agentes patog\u00e9nicos das \u00e1rvores. O evento, organizado pelo IEFC<\/a>, foi conduzido por investigadores do Italian National Research Council<\/a> e foi gentilmente acolhido pelo Giorgio Tesi Group<\/a>, um dos maiores grupos de viveiros internacionais.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Durante o workshop, os investigadores apresentaram v\u00e1rias ferramentas, entre as quais um LAMP port\u00e1til e armadilhas de esporos. Os participantes no workshop puderam descobrir mais sobre m\u00e9todos de dete\u00e7\u00e3o molecular participando na recolha de tecidos vegetais, na prepara\u00e7\u00e3o de amostras atrav\u00e9s da extra\u00e7\u00e3o de ADN e na an\u00e1lise dos resultados atrav\u00e9s da utiliza\u00e7\u00e3o de um dispositivo port\u00e1til LAMP. Este m\u00e9todo pode ser utilizado para a dete\u00e7\u00e3o de bact\u00e9rias, insetos, fitopositivos\u00a0 e v\u00edrus, mas o kit de amostragem utilizado deve ser adaptado de acordo com a praga ou doen\u00e7a pesquisada identificar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bacteria Xylella fastidiosa<\/em> was chosen as the target for the workshop demonstration and, fortunately, no traces of this bacteria were found in the samples taken from the nursery trees. Furthermore, HOMED researchers expanded the scope of the LAMP instrument by designing specific primers for the detection o<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A bact\u00e9ria Xylella fastidiosa <\/em>foi escolhida como alvo para a demonstra\u00e7\u00e3o em laborat\u00f3rio e, felizmente, n\u00e3o foram encontrados vest\u00edgios desta bact\u00e9ria nas amostras retiradas das \u00e1rvores do viveiro. Al\u00e9m disso, os investigadores HOMED expandiram o \u00e2mbito do instrumento LAMP, tendo desenvolvido prim\u00e1rios\u00a0 espec\u00edficos para a dete\u00e7\u00e3o de Fusarium circinatum<\/em>, Phytophtora ramorum<\/em> ou Gnomoniopsis smithogilvyi<\/em>. A sua demonstra\u00e7\u00e3o participativa destacou a simplicidade na utiliza\u00e7\u00e3o do instrumento e a sua rapidez (resultados em apenas 30 minutos). Contudo, mostrou tamb\u00e9m que a ferramenta n\u00e3o \u00e9 suficientemente simples para ser utilizada isoladamente por t\u00e9cnicos de viveiros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Al\u00e9m disso, foram apresentados duas armadilhas aerobiol\u00f3gicos para a monitoriza\u00e7\u00e3o dos esporos que circulam no ar. Os resultados das amostras devem ser analisados com um m\u00e9todo qPCR para detetar a presen\u00e7a de um agente patog\u00e9nico. As duas armadilhas de esporos foram comparadas para avaliar os benef\u00edcios de cada uma e para identificar as suas condi\u00e7\u00f5es ideais de funcionamento.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finalmente, este evento foi tamb\u00e9m uma oportunidade para apresentar o pr\u00f3ximo HOMED Knowledge hub, que incluir\u00e1 todas as ferramentas e conhecimentos cient\u00edficos produzidos pelo projeto para ajudar as nossas partes interessadas na gest\u00e3o de pragas e agentes patog\u00e9nicos emergentes. O n\u00facleo de conhecimento ser\u00e1 implementado em linha para continuar a demonstra\u00e7\u00e3o e divulga\u00e7\u00e3o das solu\u00e7\u00f5es pr\u00e1ticas do HOMED para os utilizadores finais.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
