A rede REINFFORCE apresentada na confer\u00eancia “Gest\u00e3o Florestal no S\u00e9culo XXI\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Em resposta \u00e0 necessidade de aumentar a capacidade de adapta\u00e7\u00e3o e atenua\u00e7\u00e3o das florestas europeias aos efeitos das altera\u00e7\u00f5es clim\u00e1ticas, a confer\u00eancia “A gest\u00e3o das florestas no s\u00e9culo XXI<\/a>” reuniu peritos cient\u00edficos em gest\u00e3o florestal de toda a Europa para trocar e melhorar a compreens\u00e3o do papel das florestas e da gest\u00e3o florestal no contexto das altera\u00e7\u00f5es clim\u00e1ticas.<\/p>\n

A confer\u00eancia teve lugar no Instituto de Investiga\u00e7\u00e3o do Impacto Clim\u00e1tico de Potsdam e foi organizada pelos projectos de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o FORMASAM<\/a>, REFORCE<\/a>, e FOEXCLIM<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Mais de 100 cientistas participaram em debates sobre os efeitos dos extremos e perturba\u00e7\u00f5es clim\u00e1ticas, os desafios de gest\u00e3o da resili\u00eancia das florestas e a contribui\u00e7\u00e3o da gest\u00e3o florestal para a atenua\u00e7\u00e3o das altera\u00e7\u00f5es clim\u00e1ticas.<\/p>\n

Durante esta confer\u00eancia, Hern\u00e1n Serrano-Le\u00f3n apresentou a REINFFORCE em nome do IEFC. A REINFFORCE \u00e9 uma rede estrat\u00e9gica de infra-estruturas concebida para fornecer provas emp\u00edricas aos gestores florestais e ajudar na selec\u00e7\u00e3o de material gen\u00e9tico adaptado a um clima futuro que ser\u00e1 diferente das condi\u00e7\u00f5es actuais. Dado que as esp\u00e9cies e a gest\u00e3o produtivas actuais podem ser inadequadas \u00e0s condi\u00e7\u00f5es clim\u00e1ticas futuras, a produtividade e a capacidade de mitiga\u00e7\u00e3o das altera\u00e7\u00f5es clim\u00e1ticas das nossas florestas produtivas estar\u00e3o em risco.<\/p>\n

A apresenta\u00e7\u00e3o incluiu tamb\u00e9m os primeiros resultados publicados sobre o REINFFORCE, baseados em pesquisas realizadas por Ant\u00f3nio Correira com o apoio de C. Orazio. Os resultados da REINFFORCE demonstram que as esp\u00e9cies aut\u00f3ctones e ex\u00f3ticas enfrentar\u00e3o diferentes solu\u00e7\u00f5es de compromisso no contexto das altera\u00e7\u00f5es clim\u00e1ticas entre os potenciais ganhos de crescimento e o aumento dos riscos de mortalidade. S\u00e3o necess\u00e1rias mais investiga\u00e7\u00f5es e an\u00e1lises experimentais a longo prazo para dar respostas sobre o potencial de substitui\u00e7\u00e3o de esp\u00e9cies e fontes para a presta\u00e7\u00e3o de servi\u00e7os ecossist\u00e9micos m\u00faltiplos.<\/p>\n
