Nas florestas produtivas, a gest\u00e3o florestal sustent\u00e1vel deve, portanto, concentrar-se n\u00e3o s\u00f3 na produ\u00e7\u00e3o de madeira, mas tamb\u00e9m na preserva\u00e7\u00e3o da diversidade gen\u00e9tica \u2013 a base da adaptabilidade. O pinheiro-silvestre (<em>Pinus sylvestris<\/em> L.), uma esp\u00e9cie fundamental na silvicultura do norte da Europa, tem sido h\u00e1 muito o foco da reprodu\u00e7\u00e3o sistem\u00e1tica de \u00e1rvores. Compreender como a utiliza\u00e7\u00e3o de material gen\u00e9tico melhorado afeta a diversidade gen\u00e9tica \u00e9 essencial para garantir a estabilidade a longo prazo das florestas futuras.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-29371c80530f646cc1972dae01402c13\">A investiga\u00e7\u00e3o realizada no \u00e2mbito do Programa Nacional de Investiga\u00e7\u00e3o da Let\u00f3nia n.\u00ba VPP-ZM-VRIIILA-2024\/2-0002 \u00ab<em>Innovation in Forest Management and Value Chain for Latvia&#8217;s Growth: New Forest Services, Products and Technologies (Forest4LV)\u00bb<\/em> no Instituto Estatal de Investiga\u00e7\u00e3o Florestal da Let\u00f3nia \u00abSilava\u00bb abordou esta quest\u00e3o atrav\u00e9s de modelos de simula\u00e7\u00e3o e estudos de campo. Os resultados mostram que o material geneticamente melhorado pode ser amplamente utilizado para aumentar a produtividade sem amea\u00e7ar a diversidade gen\u00e9tica, desde que as fontes de sementes sejam aplicadas de forma equilibrada.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-681cca7c23b4196c09642333b8cf3710\">As an\u00e1lises de simula\u00e7\u00e3o testaram diferentes estrat\u00e9gias de refloresta\u00e7\u00e3o ao n\u00edvel da paisagem, variando tanto a propor\u00e7\u00e3o de regenera\u00e7\u00e3o de pinheiro-silvestre estabelecida com material de sementeira (0-100%), como o n\u00famero e os clones nas sementeiras contribuintes. V\u00e1rias centenas de \u00e1rvores regeneradas naturalmente e material de sementeira (representando de 20 a mais de 200 clones por sementeira) foram genotipados para servir como conjunto de dados de simula\u00e7\u00e3o. Os resultados sugerem que, mesmo que as planta\u00e7\u00f5es de pinheiro-silvestre dominem a regenera\u00e7\u00e3o futura, a diversidade gen\u00e9tica ao n\u00edvel da paisagem pode permanecer compar\u00e1vel \u00e0 da regenera\u00e7\u00e3o natural, desde que v\u00e1rios pomares com composi\u00e7\u00e3o clonal diversificada contribuam para isso. Mesmo quando se utilizam sementes do pomar com o menor n\u00famero de clones (20), a heterozigosidade esperada permaneceu em 95% da regenera\u00e7\u00e3o natural pura quando at\u00e9 dois ter\u00e7os da \u00e1rea total simulada da floresta de pinheiros foi plantada.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-3a436d21aff848fa72cbcb62c9cd04cc\">As an\u00e1lises tamb\u00e9m indicaram que os pomares de sementes de segunda gera\u00e7\u00e3o, mesmo quando baseados em menos clones, podem manter uma diversidade compar\u00e1vel \u00e0 dos pomares de primeira gera\u00e7\u00e3o maiores (por exemplo, 25 contra 90 clones) quando as suas \u00e1rvores progenitoras representam uma ampla gama geogr\u00e1fica. Tanto o n\u00famero de progenitores como a sua origem s\u00e3o, portanto, cruciais para manter a adaptabilidade em condi\u00e7\u00f5es de mudan\u00e7a.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-e02afea4558c840cd69623148f4104a8\">Os estudos de campo apoiaram as conclus\u00f5es com evid\u00eancias do desempenho do material do pomar de sementes durante a rota\u00e7\u00e3o. Em ensaios de sementeira direta mecanizada em solos org\u00e2nicos, o material melhorado teve um bom desempenho. An\u00e1lises gen\u00e9ticas mostraram que 87 % das pl\u00e2ntulas eram origin\u00e1rias do pomar de sementes 6 anos ap\u00f3s a sementeira, e essas pl\u00e2ntulas eram mais altas e vigorosas, com a sua vantagem aumentando \u00e0 medida que as \u00e1rvores envelheciam. Ap\u00f3s o primeiro desbaste comercial aos 30-40 anos de idade \u2014 que removeu at\u00e9 metade da \u00e1rea basal do povoamento \u2014 mais de 95 % dos gen\u00f3tipos maternos foram mantidos e a herdabilidade para o crescimento aumentou.
