Ap\u00f3s ter conseguido a reconvers\u00e3o da sua industria pesada, gra\u00e7as particularmente \u00e0 cria\u00e7\u00e3o de centros tecnol\u00f3gicos que s\u00e3o hoje uma refer\u00eancia em Espanha, o Pais Basco esta neste momento a desenvolver um programa ambicioso de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o fundamental.
\n\u00c9 interessante notar que \u00e9 o minist\u00e9rio Basco da industria que lidera este programa, estando convencido que injectar dinheiro na investiga\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 um investimento e n\u00e3o uma despesa. A ideia: criar criar centros privados para ter toda a latitude de recrutamento dos melhores investigadores de onde quer que sejam, para que venham criar as suas equipas de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o num ambiente material atractivo. Esta abordagem foi inspirada dos centros de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o catal\u00e3s que come\u00e7aram a aparecer a partir nos anos 90.
\nQuatro temas foram seleccionados : s\u00e3o os lideres do recrutamento e os projectos que defenderam que estabeleceram os contornos precisos de cada centro. Nanosciences et nanotechnologies, biotechnologies, biomaterials<\/b>, micro-nano-technology. Quatro temas, quatro centros (em S\u00e3o Sebasti\u00e3o e Bilbau), quatro nomes : nanoGune, bioGune, biomaGune, microGune.
\n“Gune” significa “lugar” em basco. Estes lugares em fase de instala\u00e7\u00e3o mais ou menos avan\u00e7ada devem ser seguidos atentamente : o melhor da investiga\u00e7\u00e3o est\u00e1 para vir ou j\u00e1 veio destes centros.
