O encontro foi organizado pela Universidade de P\u00e1dua em Villa Bolasco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">No total, a confer\u00eancia contou com mais de 70 delegados de todo o mundo e de pa\u00edses t\u00e3o distantes como o Jap\u00e3o, a Indon\u00e9sia, o Canad\u00e1 e os EUA. Foram apresentados 37 trabalhos em quatro sess\u00f5es: &#8220;Aclimata\u00e7\u00e3o e adapta\u00e7\u00e3o das \u00e1rvores ao vento&#8221;, &#8220;Estudos de caso e an\u00e1lise de risco&#8221;, &#8220;Florestas resistentes e resilientes ao clima &#8221; e &#8220;Processos de danos causados pelo vento&#8221;, uma sess\u00e3o com 10 Flash Talks e uma sess\u00e3o de posters. Para al\u00e9m do mencionado, realizaram-se quatro workshops sobre &#8220;Metodologias de extra\u00e7\u00e3o de \u00e1rvores&#8221;, &#8221; Utiliza\u00e7\u00e3o de dete\u00e7\u00e3o remota em estudos de danos causados pelo vento&#8221;, &#8220;ForestGALES R library fgr&#8221; e &#8220;Utiliza\u00e7\u00e3o de machine-learning em estudos ecol\u00f3gicos&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">No final da confer\u00eancia, realizou-se uma mesa redonda, em colabora\u00e7\u00e3o com a Assembleia Geral Anual do IEFC, para debater o tema &#8220;Gerindo as florestas contra os riscos&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">O \u00faltimo dia da confer\u00eancia consistiu numa visita de um dia ao Planalto de Asiago para observar os danos causados pelo vento nas florestas de abetos da Noruega. Estas \u00e1rvores foram plantadas ap\u00f3s a Primeira Guerra Mundial, na d\u00e9cada de 1920, para substituir as \u00e1rvores destru\u00eddas pelos quase quatro anos de combates entre os ex\u00e9rcitos italiano e austr\u00edaco. Em outubro de 2018, a <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Storm_Adrian\">tempestade Vaia<\/a> destruiu uma enorme \u00e1rea de floresta na zona e t\u00eam ocorrido danos subsequentes causados por escolit\u00eddieos.
