Bakgrunn<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Mens vi forventer at \u00f8kte temperaturer i vekstsesongen vil f\u00f8re til \u00f8kt produktivitet for gran (Picea abies (L.) Karst) i store deler av treslagets utbredelsomr\u00e5de i boreal skog, vil et endret klima ogs\u00e5 kunne gj\u00f8re grana mere utsatt for biotiske og abiotiske skader.S\u00e6rlig viktig er risikoen for stormfelling og sn\u00f8brekk etter episoder med v\u00e5t sn\u00f8, som kan medf\u00f8re store \u00f8konomiske tap og potensielt endre et skogomr\u00e5de fra \u00e5 v\u00e6re et karbonsluk til \u00e5 bli en kilde til karbonutslipp. Risikoen for slike skader er avhengig av lokale klima- og jordbunnsforhold, men ogs\u00e5 av tr\u00e6rnes stabilitet som i stor grad p\u00e5virkes gjennom skogbehandlingen. For \u00e5 optimalisere b\u00e5de virkeproduksjon og opptak av karbon p\u00e5 skogarealene trengs kunnskap om samspillet mellom tr\u00e6rnes vekstforhold, skogbehandlingen og klima- og v\u00e6rforhold som p\u00e5virker risiko for for vind- og sn\u00f8brekkskader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Knust gran gran<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Hovedm\u00e5let med MARCSMAN er \u00e5 framskaffe kunnskap og verkt\u00f8y som trengs for \u00e5 optimalisere skogbehandlingen i et endret klima og ved ulik risiko for vind- og sn\u00f8brekkskader. I prosjektet skal det utvikles metoder og modeller som skal gj\u00f8re det mulig \u00e5:
(1) oppdatere estimater for granskogens produksjonsevne under endrede vekstforhold med en ny aldersfri boniteringsmetode;
(2) kartlegge sannsynligheten for stormfelling og sn\u00f8brekk for enkelttr\u00e6r og skogbestand; og
(3) forutsi produksjon og skaderisiko i granskog ved ulike tetthets- og tynningsregimer i et endret klima. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
