Les sessions pl\u00e9ni\u00e8res ont eu pour th\u00e8mes&nbsp;:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-list\">\n<li>D\u00e9carboner le b\u00e2timent et la ville avec le bois&nbsp;;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Favoriser la comp\u00e9titivit\u00e9 de la construction bois&nbsp;;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Projets de construction bois de moyenne et grande hauteur du monde entier.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">Le p\u00f4le Ressources Foresti\u00e8res des Territoires a contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 cet \u00e9v\u00e8nement en proposant un atelier portant sur le r\u00f4le \u00e0 venir des for\u00eats de plantations pour la fourniture de ressources utilis\u00e9es dans la construction \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle internationale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color\" style=\"color:#006633\"><strong>Situation fran\u00e7aise<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">St\u00e9phane Vi\u00e9ban, pr\u00e9sident de FCBA et directeur d\u2019<a href=\"https:\/\/www.allianceforetsbois.fr\/\">Alliance For\u00eat Bois<\/a>, a introduit cet atelier en interrogeant sur le fond&nbsp;: doit-on adapter les ressources foresti\u00e8res aux besoins de l\u2019industrie, ou adapter les produits \u00e0 la ressource foresti\u00e8re&nbsp;? La France, comme d\u2019autres pays, fait face aux demandes contradictoires d\u2019une for\u00eat majoritairement en feuillus et de produits issus de r\u00e9sineux. Actuellement, les feuillus couvrent 72 % de la surface foresti\u00e8re fran\u00e7aise mais ne repr\u00e9sentent que 24 % du volume de bois d\u2019\u0153uvre r\u00e9colt\u00e9 et 17 % des sciages. En 2021, les for\u00eats de plantations ont \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019origine de 60 % du bois d\u2019\u0153uvre r\u00e9colt\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">La <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecologie.gouv.fr\/strategie-nationale-bas-carbone-snbc\">Strat\u00e9gie Nationale Bas Carbone<\/a> d\u00e9finit en France une trajectoire de r\u00e9duction des gaz \u00e0 effet de serre dans l\u2019objectif d\u2019atteindre la neutralit\u00e9 carbone \u00e0 l\u2019horizon 2050. L\u2019utilisation de bois fran\u00e7ais, ayant une emprunte carbone 15 \u00e0 25 % moindre que les produits import\u00e9s, serait un des moyens d\u2019y parvenir. Par ailleurs, la nouvelle norme RE2020<a id=\"_ftnref1\" href=\"#_ftn1\">[1]<\/a> oblige les architectes \u00e0 \u00eatre plus attentifs \u00e0 l\u2019empreinte carbone et \u00e0 l\u2019origine des mati\u00e8res premi\u00e8res et souhaitent d\u00e9sormais acc\u00e8s aux mat\u00e9riaux en circuits courts. Jean-Denis Forterre, de la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fnbois.com\/\">FNB<\/a>, a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 pour J\u00e9r\u00f4me Martinez le <a href=\"https:\/\/bois-de-france.org\/\">Label Bois de France<\/a> certifiant le bois issu des for\u00eats fran\u00e7aises et leur transformation sur le territoire. La fili\u00e8re fran\u00e7aise a encore besoin d\u2019augmenter ses capacit\u00e9s de transformations et la qualit\u00e9 de ses sciages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">Les transformateurs doivent aujourd\u2019hui int\u00e9grer dans leurs process des bois issus de peuplements d\u00e9p\u00e9rissants. Les changements climatiques qui en sont \u00e0 l\u2019origine compliquent la gestion sylvicole appliqu\u00e9e aux \u00e9pic\u00e9as dans le Morvan ou encore aux h\u00eatres et ch\u00eanes de Picardie ou de Haute-Marne. Ces cas d\u2019\u00e9tude, propos\u00e9s en exemples par Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Dh\u00f4te de l\u2019<a href=\"https:\/\/biofora.val-de-loire.hub.inrae.fr\/\">INRAe<\/a>, soulignent la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 d\u2019acc\u00e9l\u00e9rer les renouvellements forestiers et de raccourcir les rotations pour limiter les risques de d\u00e9g\u00e2ts massifs. Jaminon)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-text-color\" style=\"color:#006633\"><strong>En Scandinavie<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-black-color has-text-color\">En Finlande et en Su\u00e8de, l\u2019adaptation aux changements climatiques passera par une augmentation de la proportion d\u2019esp\u00e8ces de pins, surtout dans le nord de la Su\u00e8de domin\u00e9 par la production d\u2019\u00e9pic\u00e9as. Dans ces pays, la foresterie et sa m\u00e9canisation se sont largement d\u00e9velopp\u00e9es dans les ann\u00e9es 1950. Annika Nordin, de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.storaenso.com\/fr-fr\/\">Stora Enso<\/a>, mentionne de nouvelles mesures de protection de la biodiversit\u00e9, de la ripisylve et une tendance \u00e0 la diminution de la taille des coupes rases. Ces nouvelles modalit\u00e9s de gestion n\u00e9cessitent souvent l\u2019apport d\u2019aides financi\u00e8res aux propri\u00e9taires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color\" style=\"color:#006633\"><strong>En Nouvelle-Z\u00e9lande<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">Le taux de boisement de la Nouvelle-Z\u00e9lande a \u00e9t\u00e9 le plus important dans les ann\u00e9es 1990 en raison du prix \u00e9lev\u00e9 du bois. La surface plant\u00e9e annuellement s\u2019est ensuite effondr\u00e9e avant de red\u00e9marrer au cours des 5 derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es. Le pin radiata a \u00e9t\u00e9 la premi\u00e8re essence plant\u00e9e et elle repr\u00e9sente aujourd\u2019hui 90 % de la for\u00eat de plantation n\u00e9o-z\u00e9landaise avec une rotation \u00e0 28 ans. La Nouvelle-Z\u00e9lande a le second plus fort volume de bois rond produit par habitant au monde apr\u00e8s la Finlande. L\u2019\u00eele Centrale Nord concentre 32 % de la for\u00eat de production en surface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">Henri Baill\u00e8res a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 les th\u00e9matiques de recherche de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scionresearch.com\/\">Scion<\/a> int\u00e9grant l\u2019ensemble de la fili\u00e8re&nbsp;: sylviculture, bois, mat\u00e9riaux d\u00e9riv\u00e9s du bois et autres biomat\u00e9riaux. La Nouvelle-Z\u00e9lande se dirige vers une augmentation de la production de bois transform\u00e9 et un export de produits \u00e0 plus forte valeur ajout\u00e9e. Cette strat\u00e9gie n\u00e9cessitera davantage d\u2019investissements industriels et une hausse de la surface de for\u00eat plant\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color\" style=\"color:#006633\"><strong>Au Japon<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">La surface foresti\u00e8re japonaise est en augmentation mais ce pays importe de plus en plus de bois d\u2019\u0153uvre pour sa consommation. Selon Yuuko Iizuka, de <a href=\"https:\/\/sfc.jp\/english\/\">Sumitomo Forestry<\/a>, la for\u00eat japonaise est exploit\u00e9e mais manque d\u2019entretien en raison du co\u00fbt de la main d\u2019\u0153uvre et du manque d\u2019investissements suites aux typhons. La moiti\u00e9 de la for\u00eat a plus de 50 ans et les \u00e9v\u00e8nements climatiques pluvieux constituent le principal risque. La productivit\u00e9 a \u00e9t\u00e9 am\u00e9lior\u00e9e avec des plantations de cryptomeria mais une partie de la population y est allergique, celui-ci provocant un rhume des foins. Ces contraintes ont conduit Sumitomo Forestry \u00e0 une strat\u00e9gie d\u2019investissement dans des boisement ailleurs dans le monde, principalement en Asie du Sud, en Oc\u00e9anie et en Am\u00e9rique du Nord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color\" style=\"color:#006633\"><strong>Au Chili<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">Au Chili, la majeure partie de la for\u00eat est temp\u00e9r\u00e9e mais la configuration g\u00e9ographique du pays induit d\u2019importantes diff\u00e9rences stationnelles du nord au sud et un fort taux d\u2019end\u00e9misme. Les plantations foresti\u00e8res s\u2019y sont d\u2019abord largement d\u00e9velopp\u00e9es pour lutter contre l\u2019\u00e9rosion caus\u00e9e par des pratiques agricoles dommageables pour les sols. Les for\u00eats de plantations sont poss\u00e9d\u00e9es \u00e0 60 % par trois grandes entreprises et les principales essences plant\u00e9es sont le pin radiata et l\u2019eucalyptus. La p\u00e2te \u00e0 papier repr\u00e9sente 37 % du volume produit et les sciages 38 %. Les sciages sont issus dans leur quasi-totalit\u00e9 de for\u00eats de plantation. Pour Oscar Larrain, d\u2019<a href=\"https:\/\/www.infor.cl\/\">InFor<\/a>, les risques biotiques et abiotiques associ\u00e9s aux plantations foresti\u00e8res chiliennes sont en augmentation et elles sont de moins en moins accept\u00e9es par la soci\u00e9t\u00e9. Pour \u00eatre accept\u00e9e, la for\u00eat de plantation doit faire partie d\u2019une mosa\u00efque h\u00e9t\u00e9rog\u00e8ne de fa\u00e7on \u00e0 diminuer son impact visuel et \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer sa r\u00e9silience.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-background is-style-dots\" style=\"background-color:#006633;color:#006633\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>En prenant du recul<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">Lyndall Bull, de la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fao.org\/home\/fr\">FAO<\/a>, apporte une perspective mondiale sur la place des for\u00eats de plantation \u00e0 l\u2019avenir. Globalement, la surface de for\u00eats \u00e0 forte biodiversit\u00e9 est en baisse et la demande en produits bois est en augmentation. La d\u00e9forestation est en baisse mais le reboisement diminue \u00e9galement, induisant un bilan mondial n\u00e9gatif.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">A l\u2019avenir, la FAO s\u2019attend \u00e0 une augmentation de l\u2019utilisation du bois pour l\u2019\u00e9laboration de nombreux produits. Ainsi, la part d\u2019utilisation du bois en construction passerait de 5 \u00e0 12 % entre 2020 et 2023, et de 8 \u00e0 23 % dans les fibres textiles. D\u2019ici 2050, 3 milliards de nouveaux logements seront n\u00e9cessaires, principalement en Afrique o\u00f9 la population va doubler. On estime que seulement 33 millions d\u2019hectares de plantations \u00e0 15 m<sup>3<\/sup>\/ha\/an seraient n\u00e9cessaires pour satisfaire la demande en bois. Pour rappel, la for\u00eat couvre aujourd\u2019hui environ 4 milliards d\u2019hectares dans le monde. Dans ce contexte, les for\u00eats de plantation semblent indispensables pour assurer un approvisionnement en bois de la fili\u00e8re construction, pr\u00e9f\u00e9rable \u00e0 des alternatives non renouvelables.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"605\" height=\"237\" src=\"https:\/\/www.plantedforests.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Image3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14820\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.plantedforests.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Image3.png 605w, https:\/\/www.plantedforests.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Image3-300x118.png 300w, https:\/\/www.plantedforests.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Image3-150x59.png 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 605px) 100vw, 605px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Figure 2&nbsp;: Sans prendre en compte un potentiel remplacement de certains produits non-renouvelables par des produits issus du bois, la consommation de produits bois augmentera de 37 % d\u2019ici 2050 (FAO \u2013 Global Forest Products Model)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conclusions<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">On retrouve aujourd\u2019hui certaines similitudes dans les probl\u00e9matiques et les approches des forestiers et transformateurs du monde. Les forestiers doivent faire face \u00e0 de nouveaux d\u00e9fis li\u00e9s aux changements globaux en adaptant les sylvicultures et les essences. L\u2019inaction ou l\u2019inadaptation des pratiques am\u00e8neraient \u00e0 des impasses sylvicoles d\u00e9favorables \u00e0 la biodiversit\u00e9 et aux besoins humains comprenant les utilisations en construction. L\u2019utilisation de bois en construction augmentera certainement dans le monde en raison des importants besoins en logements et en s\u00e9questration de carbone, en r\u00e9ponse aux politiques environnementales des diff\u00e9rents pays. Ces politiques induisent \u00e9galement une utilisation de plus en plus importante de bois produit en circuit court. Dans ce contexte, les plantations foresti\u00e8res occuperont une place importante dans les sylvicultures \u00e0 venir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-white-color has-text-color has-background\" style=\"background-color:#006633\">L\u2019<a href=\"https:\/\/www.plantedforests.org\/fr\/\">Institut Europ\u00e9en de la For\u00eat Cultiv\u00e9e<\/a> a contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 cet \u00e9v\u00e8nement en finan\u00e7ant la venue d\u2019un doctorant via son <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plantedforests.org\/fr\/iefc-network-fund-2022facilitate-cooperation-on-planted-forest\/\">fonds de coop\u00e9ration<\/a>. C\u2019est dans ce cadre que Esteban Torres-S\u00e1nchez a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 son travail de th\u00e8se r\u00e9alis\u00e9 au <a href=\"https:\/\/lourizan.xunta.gal\/gl\">CIF Louriz\u00e1n<\/a> avec l\u2019<a href=\"https:\/\/www.uvigo.gal\/\">Universit\u00e9 de Vigo<\/a>. Celui-ci porte sur l\u2019\u00e9valuation de l\u2019ajout de caract\u00e8res li\u00e9s \u00e0 la qualit\u00e9 du bois comme crit\u00e8res de s\u00e9lection dans le programme de s\u00e9lection galicien du pin maritime. La s\u00e9lection g\u00e9n\u00e9tique a d\u00e9j\u00e0 permis d\u2019am\u00e9liorer la croissance et la rectitude des pins maritimes galiciens et l\u2019am\u00e9lioration de la qualit\u00e9 du bois pourrait lui assurer certains usages. L\u2019ad\u00e9quation de plusieurs familles issues de diff\u00e9rents parents a \u00e9t\u00e9 test\u00e9e sur plusieurs sites galiciens.
