El objetivo de este proyecto es identificar las especies arb\u00f3reas europeas que ofrecen una capacidad \u00f3ptima de secuestro de carbono en el suelo, un crecimiento r\u00e1pido de los \u00e1rboles y una adaptaci\u00f3n al cambio clim\u00e1tico. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dentro del proyecto, un m\u00f3dulo de\ntrabajo se dedica espec\u00edficamente al estudio de las relaciones que vinculan las\npropiedades de las especies (llamadas funcionales) implicadas en la regulaci\u00f3n\ndel crecimiento de los \u00e1rboles con las condiciones ambientales en las que\ncrecen. En efecto, si bien se conoce relativamente bien la identidad de los funcionales\nque controlan el crecimiento (por ejemplo, el \u00e1rea foliar espec\u00edfica o la\ndensidad de la madera xilem\u00e1tica), no se comprende bien c\u00f3mo var\u00eda su\nimportancia con el clima y la fertilidad del suelo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Para dilucidar sobre esta cuesti\u00f3n, se\nutilizan datos de varias redes de sitios experimentales en Europa y Am\u00e9rica del\nNorte. En particular, un curso de m\u00e1ster se basa en la red experimental\nREINFFORCE. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Durante las pr\u00e1cticas, un primer paso ser\u00e1 visitar varios arboretos (<a href=\"https:\/\/reinfforce.iefc.net\/arboreta\/ar13\/\"><strong>AR13<\/strong><\/a><strong> <\/strong>y, en menor medida, <a href=\"https:\/\/reinfforce.iefc.net\/arboreta\/ar14\/\"><strong>AR14 <\/strong><\/a>y <a href=\"https:\/\/reinfforce.iefc.net\/arboreta\/ar16\/\"><strong>AR16<\/strong><\/a>) para recoger muestras de los \u00e1rboles (follaje, ramas, ra\u00edces) de 23 especies(*). Estas muestras se utilizar\u00e1n para caracterizar los rasgos funcionales de las especies y para estudiar la plasticidad de estos rasgos para adaptarse a las diferentes condiciones del lugar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En una segunda etapa, los datos de\ncrecimiento de toda la red experimental se cruzar\u00e1n con las propiedades de cada\narboreto (clima, suelo).
