La red REINFFORCE presentada en la conferencia \u201cGesti\u00f3n de los bosques en el siglo XXI\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

En cuanto a la necesidad de aumentar la capacidad de adaptaci\u00f3n y mitigaci\u00f3n de los bosques europeos a los efectos del cambio clim\u00e1tico, la conferencia \u00ab\u00a0Gesti\u00f3n de los bosques en el siglo XXI<\/a>\u00a0\u00bb reuni\u00f3 a expertos cient\u00edficos en ordenaci\u00f3n forestal de toda Europa para intercambiar y mejorar la comprensi\u00f3n del papel de los bosques y de la ordenaci\u00f3n forestal en el contexto del cambio clim\u00e1tico.<\/p>\n

La conferencia tuvo lugar en el Instituto de Potsdam para la Investigaci\u00f3n sobre el Impacto Clim\u00e1tico y fue organizada por los proyectos de investigaci\u00f3n FORMASAM<\/a>, REFORCE<\/a>, y FOEXCLIM<\/a>.<\/p>\n

M\u00e1s de 100 cient\u00edficos participaron en debates sobre los efectos de los extremos clim\u00e1ticos y las perturbaciones, los desaf\u00edos de gesti\u00f3n para que los bosques sean resilientes, y la contribuci\u00f3n de la gesti\u00f3n forestal a la mitigaci\u00f3n del cambio clim\u00e1tico.<\/p>\n

Durante esta conferencia, Hern\u00e1n Serrano-Le\u00f3n present\u00f3 REINFFORCE en nombre del IEFC. REINFFORCE es una red de infraestructuras estrat\u00e9gica dise\u00f1ada para proporcionar pruebas emp\u00edricas a los gestores forestales y ayudar en la selecci\u00f3n de material gen\u00e9tico adaptado a un clima futuro que ser\u00e1 diferente de las condiciones actuales. Debido a que las especies productivas y la gesti\u00f3n actuales pueden ser inadecuadas para las condiciones clim\u00e1ticas futuras, la productividad y la capacidad de mitigaci\u00f3n del cambio clim\u00e1tico de nuestros bosques productivos estar\u00e1n en peligro, lo que repercute en la prestaci\u00f3n por parte de los bosques de diferentes servicios de los ecosistemas.<\/p>\n

La presentaci\u00f3n tambi\u00e9n incluy\u00f3 los primeros resultados publicados sobre REINFFORCE, basados en la investigaci\u00f3n realizada por Ant\u00f3nio Correira con el apoyo de C. Orazio. Los resultados de REINFFORCE demuestran que las especies aut\u00f3ctonas y ex\u00f3ticas se enfrentar\u00e1n a diferentes compromisos en el marco del cambio clim\u00e1tico entre potenciales aumentos de crecimiento y el aumento de los riesgos de mortalidad. Se necesitan m\u00e1s investigaciones a largo plazo y an\u00e1lisis experimentales para dar respuesta al potencial de estos materiales alternativos de regeneraci\u00f3n para proporcionar en el futuro m\u00faltiples servicios ecosist\u00e9micos.<\/p>\n
